What is the difference between interior design and interior styling?

Interior design includes space planning, architectural details and finish selections such as cabinetry, tile and lighting. Interior styling focuses on the final visual layer: furniture, textiles, art and decor. At Andi Marshall Interiors, we specialize in full-home furnishings and installation. Our goal is always the same: a home that accounts for both form and function.

What's the benefit of hiring an interior designer vs. doing it myself?

The decisions involved in a design project add up faster than most people expect. Scale, proportion, material compatibility, lead times: each one takes time and the mistakes are expensive to fix. Andi makes those calls from two decades of real project experience and sources furniture and materials at trade pricing unavailable to the public. For most clients in Boise and across the Treasure Valley, the cost savings from ordering through a designer significantly offset designer fees.

How long does a design project take?

Time Frame depends on scope. For most full-home furnishing projects, the design phase takes four to six weeks, with furniture orders placed eight to twelve weeks before installation. Most full home installations including professional photos are complete in 3 days.

A single room or focused refresh moves faster. A new construction build or multi-unit property takes longer. We do our best to set a realistic timeline at the start of every project.

Do you work on vacation properties and short-term rentals?

Yes, Andi has designed and installed complete STR properties across Idaho and Utah, including a 20-unit project handled end-to-end, concept through installation near Zion National Park. Rental design considerations differ from those for a primary residence, and our approach reflects that.

Do you offer hourly consultations?

Yes. One-time consultations are billed at $100/hr and available in person or virtually. You'll get answers to your specific questions, honest direction, and enough clarity to move forward with confidence.

Do you work with clients outside of Boise?

Yes. Our studio serves clients locally across Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Star, Tamarack/Donnelly and McCall, as well as remotely for out-of-state clients. Some remote projects require occasional site visits; others are fully virtual. If you're not sure which applies to your project, reach out! We'd love to talk through it together.
